Wood Receives Equinor Contracts for Offshore and Onshore Centers In Norway

In the first of the brand new contracts, Wood will ship FEED (front-end engineering design) companies for brownfield changes to the Grane offshore center. The scope of the FEED contains all topsides modifications required on the ability to prepare for the subsea tie-back from the GRAND (Grane Area Northern Development) mission.

The contract was granted following concept examine work for the GRAND venture and contains an option for the EPCI (engineering, procurement, construction & installation) section.

The second new agreement is for the Kollsnes MEG Upgrade (KMU) venture where Equinor is Technical Service Supplier on behalf of Gassco. Wood will carry out the FEED for modifications to the Kollsnes fuel processing utility in Øygarden, west of Bergen, and might be delivered by the corporate’s local workforce in Norway, supported by systems engineers in the UK.

This new award on the Kollsnes gas utility will increase Wood’s onshore portfolio in Norway where the corporate is also planning the upgrade to naphtha hydrotreating and storage programs at Equinor’s Mongstad factory, as part of existing maintenance, modification, and operations framework agreement price approximately US$400 million.

The FEED for GRAND is scheduled for conclusion by the end of this year, and the Kollnes process plant FEED shall be completed in mid-winter 2020.
